the soo
while up north camping,
we took one afternoon and headed even farther up north...
across the mackinaw bridge...
to sault sainte marie
or as the locals say, the soo
the big attraction at the soo is the locks -
bascially it connects lake superior & lake huron
i wasn't sure if the kids would like it or not.
it's really only a cool place IF you get to see a boat passing through.
so i was hoping we'd be lucky enough to see a boat.
little did i know that over 11,000 boats pass through EVERY YEAR
no luck needed...
can you see the boat??

getting closer...
keep watching the height of the boat compared to the crowd...
as the boat pulled in, the crew was snapping pictures of the crowd.
someone yelled over and asked why.
in this picture he's yelling back the reason...
they wanted pictures to put on the boat's facebook page :)
oh and those trees across the lock canal,
hello canada!
digging the boat...
notice anything different?
now pretend i have a picture of it really low and sailing away :)
unfortunately someone had to use the bathroom...
so overall,
a pretty fun trip way WAY up north in the soo
