i love making costumes for the kids.
as you can see, they don't always want me to make their costumes.
apparently they don't believe i can make fake muscles as well as target can.

my all time favorite costume - and the FIRST one i made -
was the clown costume.
i totally forgot about it last year,
and after much discussion
{as much as you can have with a 2 year old}
josie agreed to wear it.

so as i went to post our halloween photo,
i decided i needed to go look at the costume's debut - halloween 2004.
which wasn't too hard to find
since i only have ONE cd of pictures from 2004!
how crazy is that????

no school!

what do you do when you have...
no school,
a beautiful fall day,
and kids that just want to sit around and eat their candy stash ??
head to the zoo!
it ended up being a great day to go -NO school field trips and practically NO other people!
we had the place to ourselves and it was AWESOME!
a few highlights of our day...

{ryan really wanted to take this "tall funny guy" home - ha ha}

ahhh.... a good day :)

still celebrating...

this weekend we finally finished celebrating
olivia & garrett's birthdays!

thankfully christmas is just around the corner {winter...cold...sigh}
because they are sure used to getting presents every other day - ha ha!
anyways, back to the final installment of our october birthday celebrations...
first up, olivia's party...

yes, a house full of 2nd grade girls is CRAZY

but it was actually a lot of fun.

i had braced myself for the usual drama that happens

when you put lots of girls together -

but seriously, i have never seen 13 girls play so well together!

it made me really happy that olivia

has such a fun {and nice} group of friends :)

the next party was soooooo much easier -

boys, bowling & food!

it was the perfect party for boys!

a day with ryan

yesterday ryan's class went to an apple orchard.
it was a beautiful day when we left home,
but by the time we got there it was cold, windy, rainy and oh so gloomy.

we managed to quickly do a few of the "usual" activities...
a dirty pumpkin...check!

snack on yummy apples
direct from the tree -- oh wait, from the crate...check!
{something about an early frost - argh}

and perhaps the best of all,
a big lollipop...check!

since the day was so cold {and we didn't ride the bus!}
we decided to go home early,
have a nice quiet lunch {just the two of us}
and cuddle up on the couch and watch Survivor.

definitely a fun day with ryan :)
