just yesterday

it seems like just yesterday that this crazy boy was starting D4s...

it's been a great year
and i can't believe it's over :(
ryan has had such a fun year.
he's ridden the bus alone, gone of field trips
and made lots of friends.
and best of all, he found a kid JUST LIKE HIMSELF.
no joke, these boys are crazy and so much alike.
i love it!

congrats on a great year of preschool, ryan!!!
you are one awesome kid who's growing up -
why can't you stay 4 forever???
***
ok, i do find it pretty funny that his teacher
is wearing the same shirt in these 2 pictures :)

good results

josie has held onto naps longer than any of the other kids.
lately, though, it's been a struggle.
she will still nap - it just takes her a lot longer to fall asleep in her bed.

so i finally gave in and started the -
"you don't have to nap, just watch this movie on my bed" routine.

i must say i'm pretty pleased with the results :)

soccer weather???

we are halfway through the soccer season
and the boys have only played 2 games and barely had any practices
all thanks to the rain :(

and the 2 non-rain canceled games were COLD, COLD, COLD.

this is the first year that garrett and ryan aren't on the same team.
garrett's moved up to the league where the games look like real soccer games,
not just adults herding cats {ha ha}
hopefully we'll get some decent soccer weather soon
because, seriously, it's spring and pictures like this are just wrong...
{ok, wrong but hilarious!}

hand me downs

can you spot the hand me downs in these pictures?

{there are 2}

did you figure it out?
the dollhouse & skirt were both olivia's.
i LOVED this skirt on olivia, but what i'm more excited about
is seeing someone playing with this dollhouse.

the dollhouse was one of my most favorite gifts for olivia.
i thought for sure she'd love it.
it was cool for a few days, but it's pretty much been sitting
unplayed with in her room for a long, long time.
{kind of makes you think of the sad, forgotten toys from toy story - ha ha}
but now this is josie's FAVORITE toy.
ok, maybe it's her second favorite toy behind the netflix app on my phone
{when did 3 years get so tech savvy??}
either way, i'm just glad it's getting some quality attention now!

nice job, girls!!

recently olivia's class has focused on small things we can do
to make our community & earth better.

yesterday her class put on a bake sale during lunch.
the money will be donated to a nature center.

wow, they had A LOT of treats donated!
teachers & kids were ready to buy -
thanks to olivia's message on the intercom the day before :)

nice job 2nd graders!!!

a {sort of} birthday celebration

i've always felt bad for kids with summer birthdays.
celebrating months before your actual day just seems odd.
cupcakes & celebrating in class but NO real party or presents -
where's the fun in that??

but i guess there is one upside...
you get to decide on cupcakes TWICE in one year!
this year it was blue cupcakes with chocolate frosting -
"because my bestest friend and i like blue."

and as much as i think summer birthdays are a bummer,
thankfully this kid doesn't seem to mind :)

and really, it could be worse -
like having a birthday ONCE every FOUR years!
right, caryn??

breakfast of champions 4 year old boys

today i made pancakes for the kids for breakfast.

everyone loved them except ryan.
here's why...

mom, i don't like pancakes.
i like beans.
you know, fart beans.
can i have some of those.

umm, no.
how about a poptart?
