only a 3 yr old boy...

my favorite time of day (aside from when the kids go to bed) is afternoon naptime. olivia is at school, ryan is sleeping in his crib and garrett and i snuggle on the couch. sometimes we fall asleep and sometimes we just relax and catch up on tivo (much to garrett's dismay) or cartoons.

so yesterday we are having such an afternoon. garrett was pretty wiggly and i knew he needed a nap. so i turned off the tv and we were both supposed to go to sleep. i heard him making some noises, but i kept trying to sleep. finally i opened my eyes and looked over at him.

my sweet, cuddly little 3 year old was laying there with his pants down and a big smile on his face.

"ha ha, mom! i'm peeing on you." (said while aiming and making the sound of spraying pee.)

maybe someday...

last week i had all the kids with me in victoria's secret.
there was some big sale, so it was pretty crowded.

after about 5 minutes in the store, garrett looks at me and says in his loud voice:
"mom, i don't think this is a boy shopping store!!!"

maybe someday...when you're older :)

and actually i don't think it's a mom store either...well, at least not a mom with 1 crying kid in a stroller and 2 kids who think it's fun to wander away from the stroller and touch all the merchandise.

maybe someday...when they're older :)

say cheese? nope!!

the boys were cuddling so nicely on the couch.
i went get the camera.
when i came back, that moment had obviously passed.
but candids can be pretty cute too :)

tune it out

the other night tim was giving the kids supper and i was on the treadmill. (we have a new habit of eating once the kids go to bed...lots quieter & the menu doesn't involve mac 'n cheese or hotdogs.) olivia had finished and tim let her go play with her leapster in the next room.

back in the kitchen, garrett started puking all over himself, tim, ryan & the kitchen. so tim starts yelling for me and then resorts to pounding on the floor (treadmill is in the basement right below the kitchen).

after helping tim get things under control, i went to see what olivia was up to. keep in mind she's in the next room...

me: olivia, did you realized garrett was throwing up?
olivia: what???? he threw up?
me: didn't you hear anything?
olivia: nope. i was just playing my leapster.

gotta love the leapster!
and yes, this is what olivia wears most everyday
when she gets home from school.

brrrrrrr

garrett spent the morning outside with tim shoveling & sledding. once they came in, i asked garrett if he wanted some hot chocolate.

garrett: ummm, no. i just want a popsicle.

so here you go... 2007, as lived by the lees...

and for one last picture...
goodbye 2007, hello 2008 from "the ladies"

the prayer of a 3 yr old (in december)

life can be confusing when you're 3. then when you throw in a month of non-stop talk of baby jesus, santa & wish lists here's what you get...

garrett's prayer last night:

dear god,
thank you for sissy & daddy & mommy & ryan.
thank you for my table.
thank you for my chair.
thank you for baby jesus.
thank you for santa.
and santa, i would like a leapster and a guitar.
thank you for my food.
thank you for my house.
amen.
